Digitalisation in oil & gas unifies the virtual and real worlds to drive project collaboration
The oil and gas industry has widely accepted the use of 3D modelling software for the design of offshore and onshore upstream and downstream facilities; however the full benefits of integrated software packages and design review tools has not been realised. Manual collaboration on documentation, especially between EPC and owner, rather than system-driven exchange of data, remains more widespread than we would like to admit. Mr Matsumura is a Manager for AVEVA Marine 12 Business process re-engineering in the design department. He is responsible for the strategic direction of AVEVA software in the Kawasaki Heavy Industries group. He joined KHI in 1992, spent five years in hull design, seven years in hull production design, followed by 13 years in the IT department.

Mr Chatterjee is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering with over three decades of extensive experience in engineering, contracts, project construction and liaison management. He is currently working as the head of engineering since June 2015 in Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).
